FCS Kickoff Classic

Floyd County Schools is excited to announce the inaugural FCS Kickoff Classic,

the first district wide professional learning day.

When: Friday, July 29, 2016

Where: Model High School / Model Elementary School

Would you like to present?

We are excited to offer the opportunity of sharing the great things that are going on in Floyd County Schools.  There will be several rooms dedicated to teacher generated presentations, much like EdCamp Rome.  This will allow you to connect with other educators to share innovative instructional strategies and technologies that transform education for all students.  If you are interested in presenting, please sign up here (FCS Employees Only).

Example presentations may include:

• Google Classroom
• Collaborating / sharing resources with peers from other schools
• Traditional vs. Student Centered Learning

FITE Club and the Google Certification Cohort

Floyd County Schools would like to congratulate the following people on being accepted into FITE Club and the Google Certification cohort.   We had many outstanding applications which made it a very competitive and difficult process.  Hopefully, all of you are as excited as we are about this engaging and transformative opportunity for our teachers and students.

EdCamp Athens

EdCamp Athens (@edcampathens) was awesome!  One size fits all professional development does not allow the freedom and relaxed atmosphere that the EdCamp model has come to be known for.  

Breakfast was provided by Amazon and was amazing.  The sessions were varied with great content and speakers.  Lunch from Zaxby's was great, but the ice cream at the end of the day prepped me for an afternoon nap.

Shout out to Craig Ellison who thought he would not win anything during the swag giveaway!
